We say exactly what we mean. Eighty years of service life beats "exceptional durability". Two-point-four-times the tensile strength beats "industry-leading". Precision is a form of respect — for the engineer who will specify our material, and for the structure it will reinforce.
A manufacturing thesis,
quietly executed.
Composite Group is a Slovak manufacturer of GFRP reinforcement. We were founded in 2021 to build one specific thing: a corrosion-free, lower-carbon alternative to steel rebar, made consistently, certified properly, and delivered worldwide.
Steel rebar corrodes.
Concrete outlives it.
We make the alternative.
In a coastal pier-cap, a tunnel lining under de-icing salt, a wastewater treatment slab, the structure usually outlives the reinforcement that holds it together. Specifying engineers know this. Maintenance budgets know this. We were not satisfied with how the industry had answered the question.
GFRP reinforcement is not new — it has been in use since the 1990s. What is new is producing it at industrial volume. That means a continuous-fibre process that doesn't compromise the bar, European-supply-chain materials, the certification and documentation a major engineering office needs. That is the thesis Composite Group was founded to execute.
We are quiet about the rest. We are not a venture-fund story; we are a manufacturing one. The company has shipped five EU projects since the first pour, plus the largest documented FRP-reinforced concrete structure in the world. We have an ETA, an EPD, the codes-base in five countries. We still work with engineering offices the way we did from project one — bring the structure, we bring the material and the design library.
Four principles,
in every line we write.
How we operate, codified into four operating principles. Every datasheet, every email, every engineering reply is supposed to pass all four. If something on this site doesn't — we want to know.
We treat embodied carbon as a number on the data sheet, not a marketing theme. Climate-validated on record, audited under EuCIA methodology, and disclosed in our EPD. We write from that position — the carbon advantage is what the material does, not what we claim.
We write as colleagues, not as vendors. We do not have customers; we have cooperation partners — engineering offices that bring structures, dealers that bring markets, developers that bring projects. The first conversation is a workshop, not a quote.
The structures being designed today face conditions the steel-reinforcement era was never engineered for. Chloride attack, embedded sensors, magnetic neutrality, climate-mandated low-carbon procurement. GFRP is the kind of reinforcement newer infrastructure needs — and we build from that view.
One factory.
Fibre to packaged bar,
under one roof.
Every metre of Composite Group rebar is manufactured in a single vertically-integrated facility in Galanta, Slovakia. We run the pultrusion, the winding, the surface coating and the cut-to-length in-house. That keeps the mill test certificate traceable to the production batch — and the cooperation conversation with one team, not five.
The facility runs our second-generation continuous winding process — we call it Nidletrusion. It forms the anchorage profile in a single continuous run rather than the conventional two-stage pultrusion-plus-rib pattern. Result: 80 %+ glass-fibre content by mass, long continuous coil lengths, and a higher fibre concentration than conventional FRP rebar.
Five years,
from pilot to specified.
- 2021
Composite Group founded in Bratislava. First pilot pours in regional projects.
- 2022
TSÚS Slovak Building Approval issued. Annual surveillance audit on the facility begins.
- 2023
Mibach airline hangar — first major export. 82 km of GFRP delivered on coils.
- 2024
Selected by Microsoft, Capgemini & Bouygues — Elemental Impact Build Better Innovation Challenge. ETA 23/0523 issued.
- 2025
Jizan flood channel completes — 21.3 km, world's largest FRP-reinforced concrete structure.
- 2026
Capacity expansion underway.
We write as collaborators, not as vendors. We are not selling a commodity into a transaction; we are contributing reinforcement that will still be holding a structure together a century from now.
The honest position.
Four things companies in this category often claim, that we don't. Naming them is part of how we keep the rest of the page credible.
- 01Not a venture-fund story.
We built our European production facility, not a SaaS platform. The company is run as a manufacturer — capital allocation, supply chain, certification — not as a growth experiment.
- 02Not a one-product evangelist.
We don't believe GFRP replaces steel everywhere. We're honest about its limits on the Applications page; if your project falls outside them, we'll say so.
- 03Not a marketing-led company.
No copywriting agency holds the keys to our voice. Our pages are written by the engineers and operators who run the cooperation — that is also why they read the way they do.
- 04Not a closed shop.
We license the design library to the engineering offices we work with. Our partnership model is collaboration on real projects, not exclusive distribution rights.
